Toronto City Council, Ward 17 (Don Valley North)

Campaign Platform — Don Valley North

OUR PRIORITIES

Toronto’s homelessness crisis is putting pressure on shelters, parks, streets, and public spaces. Don Valley North needs practical solutions that improve cleanliness while connecting people experiencing homelessness with housing and support.

Thousands of Ontario seniors remain on long term care waitlists, often for years. Seniors in Don Valley North deserve better access to care and support.

Traffic on the DVP is a daily frustration for Don Valley North residents. With the province taking over the DVP, residents need to see real improvements, not simply a change in ownership.

Families across Toronto can wait years for affordable housing, leaving many in overcrowded or unsuitable homes. Don Valley North needs more family sized affordable housing.

Employment agencies provide important support to newcomers and job seekers, but administrative delays can make accessing help frustrating and slow.

Young entrepreneurs need easier access to funding, mentorship, and affordable spaces. Too much bureaucracy can prevent good ideas from becoming successful businesses.

Families are facing long waits for licensed child care, especially for infants and toddlers. Lower fees mean little if families cannot find a space.
